The three plays collected in this volume form a trilogy. All three take place in Hungary against modern historical turning points: The Visitor from the anti-Jewish laws of 1938 to the Holocaust in 1944-1945; Distorting Mirrors from Stalin's death in 1953 to the Revolution three years later, and Stolen Years is set on a single glorious day at the collapse of Communism in 1989. In all three the source of drama is the same human tragedy: an irredeemable conflict between vulnerable individuals and brutal authoritarian dictatorships.

Stolen Lives was published by Regent Books London and can be ordered from Daunts Books, Marylebone High Street, London, W1.
